Job Summary
The ServiceNow Lead Developer will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing technical tasks related to ServiceNow configuration and implementation. The role will design, develop, test, deploy, customize, and support ServiceNow solutions within an SDLC, including custom scoped applications, workflows, integrations, scripting, reporting, data imports, and platform enhancements. The developer will leverage the ServiceNow SDK (NOW SDK), ServiceNow Fluent, modern CLI tools, and Now Assist for Creator generative AI capabilities to accelerate development and automation. The role will also collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend sustainable solutions, improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and monitoring, and maintain technical and operational documentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close technical tasks related to ServiceNow configuration and implementation.
• Provide software coding and customization, including screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, integrations, scripting, third-party software integrations, and custom application development.
• Leverage the ServiceNow SDK (NOW SDK) to design, build, and package scoped applications locally within Visual Studio Code Desktop using ServiceNow Fluent and modern CLI tools.
• Utilize Now Assist for Creator generative AI capabilities to accelerate application development, automate playbook and flow generation, and streamline code creation.
• Maintain a comprehensive testing protocol for ServiceNow instance upgrades and certify applications for use following upgrades.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow solutions within a banking environment and established SDLC processes.
• Own and drive enhancements to improve the reliability and performance of existing solutions.
• Analyze risks and gaps within the existing environment and applications and implement appropriate resolutions.
• Enhance scalability, performance, and monitoring strategies for the ServiceNow platform.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and provide multiple logical and sustainable solutions.
• Evaluate existing solutions and recommend alternative approaches to improve stability, performance, and efficiency.
• Build and improve runbooks and maintain quality documentation for operational and auditing purposes.
• Coordinate and resolve complex technical data and transformation issues.
• Obtain, analyze, and interpret business requirements to propose sustainable ServiceNow solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and answer application configuration and "how-to" questions.
• Develop, maintain, and execute reports to ensure system operation meets performance targets.
• Create and maintain system design and operations documentation.
• Effectively manage projects while maintaining attention to detail and adapting to changing requirements.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of ServiceNow platform experience, preferably in development and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with the ServiceNow SDK (NOW SDK), including local application initialization, metadata transformation, and deployment of scoped applications from a local IDE such as Visual Studio Code.
• Proficiency with ServiceNow Fluent for defining application metadata in code, along with server-side JavaScript modules and third-party libraries.
• Experience leveraging Now Assist for Creator or similar generative AI developer tools for development efficiency, code generation, and workflow automation.
• Hands-on experience with Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management, Service Catalog, Service Level Management (SLM), workflows, and email notifications.
• Strong understanding of core ServiceNow platform features, Flow Designer, ACLs, server-side APIs, and client-side APIs.
• Experience with ATF, reports, dashboards, import sets, transformations, update sets, system clones, and ServiceNow upgrades.
• Hands-on experience developing custom scoped applications.
• Experience with Java, J2EE, Servlets, JSP, XML, AJAX, SQL, jQuery, JavaScript, and web-based development tools.
• Good understanding of ITSM, CSM, Event Management, integrations, and Orchestration.
• Hands-on experience working with REST APIs.
• Understanding of MID Server configuration, CMDB, Discovery, and Asset Management.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills within ServiceNow.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver assignments within tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a global team.
• Strong problem analysis and analytical skills, including the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and present significant amounts of information with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate technical and functional aspects of complex problems to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to manage and prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
• Financial services domain knowledge is desirable.
