Job DescriptionPosition OverviewFusion Innovation is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer and Webmaster to manage and enhance a portfolio of high-visibility websites. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining site content and functionality while proactively identifying new and creative ways to deliver information to stakeholders. This is a hands-on role for an experienced professional who can move beyond routine content updates, develop thoughtful digital solutions, and independently recommend improvements to the user experience. The designer will work closely with communications personnel, technical team members, and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, update, and enhance multiple Joomla and WordPress websites.
- Maintain website content, navigation, functionality, plug-ins, themes, and extensions.
- Design intuitive and visually engaging user experiences for diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, page layouts, and other design concepts.
- Proactively recommend new website features and digital communication mechanisms.
- Translate communication objectives and stakeholder requirements into effective web solutions.
- Improve website usability, accessibility, information architecture, and responsiveness.
- Develop and maintain consistent visual and content standards across websites.
- Coordinate with communications personnel to plan, create, and publish timely content.
- Test website functionality and resolve content, layout, and user-experience issues.
- Monitor emerging web design practices and recommend appropriate enhancements.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders regarding digital content presentation and website strategy.
- Manage multiple priorities and website requests in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills- Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Web Design, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Significant professional experience in UI/UX design, web design, or website administration.
- Advanced experience administering and developing websites using both Joomla and WordPress.
- Demonstrated experience designing and producing polished, high-quality websites.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, information architecture, and usability principles.
- Experience with responsive design and web accessibility standards.
- Proficiency with HTML and CSS and the ability to troubleshoot website presentation issues.
- Experience developing wireframes, prototypes, and visual design concepts.
- Ability to independently evaluate needs and propose creative digital solutions.
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Portfolio demonstrating professional UI/UX and website design work.
Desired Skills- Experience supporting executive or front office-level stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple high-visibility websites.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, PHP, CMS themes, plug-ins, and extensions.
- Experience using analytics or stakeholder feedback to improve website performance.
- Experience working alongside communications officers, content strategists, and developers.
- Knowledge of government accessibility and digital-content standards.
Additional DetailsFusion Innovation anticipates the annual base salary for this position will generally range from $100,000 to $215,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to:
- Years of direct applicable experience with this work and the customer
- Relevant education, certifications, and training
- Contract labor category requirements, skill level, contract bill rate, and hours allocation
- Alignment with the position's responsibilities
- Additional specialized skills
