Full Job Description
This role will be part of a larger team developing and supporting application solutions for our Individual Insurance lines of business. Your activities will include designing, developing, documenting, testing, and implementing changes to our core systems while working closely with business and technology colleagues who collaborate with agility.
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
What you'll do:
Design, program and test high-performance, scalable applications and database solutions
Work closely with product owners, business partners and platform gurus to build working applications to meet our business goals
Investigate and solve production problems with minimal to no guidance
Make recommendations when new technologies should be used
What you'll bring:
A strong technical background with at least 7 years of experience in:
Cobol/Micro Focus Cobol (Required)
Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL (Required)
Ingenium (Required)
GIT (would be an asset)
