Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Technology Manager to lead the Loan Servicing Technology portfolio supporting critical lending platforms and services within Commercial and Corporate Banking.
This role is accountable for technology strategy, platform modernization, operational excellence, production stability, security, scalability, and technology delivery. The successful candidate will partner closely with business, operations, architecture, engineering, infrastructure, risk, security, and vendor teams to deliver resilient technology solutions while advancing cloud adoption, automation, and AI-enabled software delivery practices
What You'll Do
Platform Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and execution of Loan Servicing technology platforms and related integrations.
- Ensure platform stability, availability, security, scalability, resilience, and operational readiness.
- Drive modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, API enablement, automation, technical debt reduction, and engineering improvements.
- Monitor platform health, operational metrics, risks, and service performance while driving continuous improvement.
- Champion innovation through adoption of AI-enabled software development and delivery practices.
Technology & Operational Leadership
- Provide leadership in solution architecture, system design, API management, integration architecture, and engineering governance.
- Lead production support governance, incident management, problem management, change management, release execution, and operational readiness activities.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity controls, privacy requirements, risk management practices, and regulatory obligations.
- Drive delivery excellence across multiple technology initiatives while managing dependencies, timelines, operational risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Leverage data and operational insights to improve platform reliability, supportability, performance, and user experience.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Partner with business and operational stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, including service delivery, licensing, contract obligations, compliance requirements, escalation management, and technology roadmap alignment.
- Collaborate effectively with architecture, infrastructure, security, operations, and external technology partners.
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage project budgets, technology investments, vendor expenditures, resource planning, estimates, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure delivery commitments align with approved funding, business priorities, and strategic objectives.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of technology professionals.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative team culture.
- Support succession planning, employee engagement, career development, and talent retention.
- Establish clear goals, accountability measures, and performance expectations.
What You Bring
Experience & Leadership
- 7+ years of experience in technology leadership, platform management, software engineering, or technology delivery.
- Minimum 4 years of people leadership experience.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex technology initiatives.
- Experience managing mission-critical production environments and enterprise applications.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, technology partners, and delivery commitments.
- Experience managing project financials and technology budgets.
Technical Expertise
Advanced experience with:
- Loan IQ platform support, administration, batch operations, environment management, releases, upgrades, and integrations.
- Commercial lending and loan servicing technology platforms.
- API management, REST services, microservices, and secure integration patterns.
- IBM API Connect and DataPower.
- Java and Spring Boot.
- Oracle databases, SQL development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and test-driven development practices.
- Cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
- Production support, operational governance, release management, and change management.
- Data analysis, reporting, monitoring, and data-driven decision making.
- AI/ML awareness and practical adoption within software development processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Loan Servicing, Syndicated Lending, or Lending Operations platforms.
- Experience with Finastra Loan IQ or comparable commercial lending systems.
- Experience leading platform modernization, cloud migration, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment.
- Familiarity with lending product lifecycles, agency services, payments, settlements, credit operations, or loan servicing processes.
- Experience managing distributed teams and vendor delivery models.

Budget Responsibility: Accountable for project and technology financial management

$94,600.00 - $176,000.00
Salaried
The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
