Senior Technical Delivery Director - US Tier 1 Telecom Operator

About the RoleReporting to the Regional Delivery Leader for North America, the Senior Technical Delivery Director will lead end-to-end delivery for a strategic US Tier 1 Telecom Operator. This role is accountable for successful delivery of the client's technology solutions, customer satisfaction, delivery governance, resource planning, financial performance, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Sales, Pre-Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Support, and Managed Services teams to drive delivery excellence, manage executive escalations, support business growth, and achieve revenue and forecasting objectives. This position is based in Seattle, WA.
Key ResponsibilitiesOverall Responsibilities- Serve as the accountable end-to-end technical delivery leader for all customer programs, ensuring clear ownership across scope, execution, governance, escalations, and customer outcomes.
- Lead the scoping, planning, estimation, resourcing, and execution of complex delivery programs for a strategic US Tier 1 telecom customer.
- Build trusted relationships by acting as a technical advisor to customer technical and leadership teams while serving as the primary escalation point for delivery-related matters.
- Drive delivery excellence through best practices, continuous process improvement, and the adoption of innovative delivery models, automation, and tooling.
- Partner with Sales and Pre-Sales teams to support new business opportunities and successful solution delivery.
- Collaborate with Support and Managed Services teams to ensure operational excellence and long-term customer success.
- Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to ensure customer requirements are effectively prioritized, designed, and delivered.
- Own revenue forecasting and proactively manage dependencies to achieve financial objectives.
- Lead resource planning, allocation, and capacity forecasting to optimize delivery capability.
- Manage operational performance in alignment with regional and global delivery objectives.
Operational Responsibilities- Provide overall program leadership and direct technical teams in delivering high-quality solutions within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Work closely with Program Directors, Project Managers, and Technical Delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Champion automation initiatives across delivery processes to improve efficiency, quality, and speed of execution.
- Oversee testing activities within customer environments, ensuring alignment with project requirements while promoting automated testing frameworks and continuous improvement.
- Manage technical escalations across Delivery, Engineering, Support, and Managed Services teams.
- Identify delivery risks, assess business impact, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
Candidate Profile- 12+ years of experience leading technical delivery for complex telecommunications programs supporting large enterprise or Tier 1 telecom customers.
- Demonstrated success leading customer-facing delivery transformation or recovery initiatives, including governance improvements, delivery optimization, executive stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven experience leading geographically distributed technical teams delivering large-scale telecom solutions.
- Strong background implementing delivery governance, quality frameworks, KPIs, stakeholder management practices, and operational improvements.
- Executive presence with the ability to engage confidently with senior customer stakeholders in complex, high-pressure environments while maintaining structured governance and data-driven decision-making.
- Hands-on leadership style with strong technical knowledge of telecommunications networks and related technologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical and delivery challenges into clear executive-level updates, recommendations, and action plans.
- Track record of achieving business objectives, maintaining forecast accuracy, and delivering against financial and operational targets.
- Proven ability to recruit, develop, mentor, and lead high-performing teams while driving continuous improvement and organizational change.
Education & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
- MBA or other advanced business qualification is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
