The Role

Veeva is seeking a Technical Architect to join our growing Patient CRM team. This pivotal role involves designing, overseeing, and executing technical services for customer implementations of the Patient CRM product, specifically focused on the complex data ecosystem of patient support and patient engagement. You will act as a trusted advisor, blending deep technical expertise with industry knowledge to ensure seamless data connectivity between customer data sources and Patient CRM.

We seek team players who are experts in integration patterns, thrive as self-starters, and are excited to build the technical foundation for customer success. This is a remote, full-time permanent role with Veeva. It is a customer-facing role with no specific work location requirement, provided you are in close proximity to an airport and able to meet future travel requirements. Veeva Systems does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status for this position.

What You'll Do

    • Lead technical discovery workshops to define integration requirements and align on architectural best practices
    • Design and document end-to-end integration flows between Patient CRM and external entities, including Hubs, Specialty Pharmacies, and Data Aggregators
    • Articulate complex technical and integration concepts to both business and IT audiences
    • Develop and leverage expertise in the Vault platform to build scalable, high-performance solutions
    • Plan, manage, and perform technical build activities, including API configurations, middleware orchestration, and batch data processing
    • Identify and monitor technical interdependencies between various workstreams to mitigate project risk
    • Contribute to the development of technical implementation methodologies and reusable integration assets for the Patient CRM team
    • Support pre-sales activities by providing technical architecture reviews, scope definition, and responding to complex functional inquiries
    • Collaborate with Product and Strategy teams to provide feedback on technical capabilities and drive product excellence
    • Mentor junior technical consultants to facilitate a growing and collaborative team environment

Requirements

    • 7+ years of demonstrated technical consulting or technical architecture experience
    • Proven expertise in Life Sciences, with a specific focus on the technical challenges of patient support and patient engagement
    • Deep knowledge of modern integration approaches, including Middleware, direct REST/SOAP APIs, and secure batch file sharing
    • Experience architecting data exchanges between diverse entities such as CRM platforms, hubs, and specialty pharmacies
    • Demonstrated ability to influence senior IT management through technical subject matter expertise
    • Adept at simplifying complex data mapping and vendor integration concepts for varying stakeholder groups
    • Strong solution design skills with a focus on data integrity and security
    • Ability to manage multiple technical workstreams concurrently in a fast-paced environment
    • Travel requirements are flexible; implementation roles may involve up to 25% travel

Nice to Have

    • Experience operating in a lean, agile, and evolving startup-like setting within a larger organization
    • Prior experience building or leading a technical service offering within a software vendor environment
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and refining technical delivery frameworks and best practices
    • Proven ability to coach junior team members towards successful technical project delivery

Work Where It's Best for You

Work Anywhere means you can work in an office or at home on any given day. It's about getting the work done in the way and place that works best for each person. This applies across all locations and departments.

Work Anywhere does not mean work at any time. We have predictable core hours where employees are generally available for meetings and collaboration. Employees are focused and available during core hours.

We invest in our offices to make them places where our employees like to go. If you work in the office three or more days a week, you will have a dedicated office workspace. Our offices function as hubs to draw people in, create social bonds, and where random connections and mixing of ideas happen. We're investing more in offices, culture, and offsite meetings, not less.

Product teams are organized in regional product hubs for optimal collaboration and live within a time zone of their hub. Our current product hubs are located in Pleasanton, Columbus, Boston, Kansas City, New York City, Raleigh, and Toronto. We create opportunities for teams to get together in person regularly.

Customer-facing roles, such as Sales and Professional Services, live near and/or travel to their customers.

When an employee moves within a country it does not cause a change in salary. Where you live impacts you and your family. Not knowing if your compensation will change if you move can cause stress and uncertainty for everyone. We wanted to eliminate that.

Work at Veeva. Work where it's best for you.
