Job Description:

The Sr. IT Systems Engineer designs, implements, and supports the company's core infrastructure with a focus on Microsoft 365, Azure, identity, and endpoint management. This role ensures our systems are secure, scalable, reliable, and well-documented to support a growing, highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment.

Essential Job Functions
  • Own and advance our identity platform, including Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, and hybrid identity solutions.
  • Design, implement, and manage modern endpoint management using Intune and Autopilot, including application deployment, configuration, automation, and patching.
  • Configure and maintain enterprise applications using Entra ID, SAML SSO, and SCIM provisioning to deliver secure, frictionless access.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize Windows servers, including routine security patching and performance tuning.
  • Implement and continuously improve security best practices, conduct regular audits, and remediate vulnerabilities across systems and endpoints.
  • Lead or contribute to complex technical projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on time and within scope.
  • Identify operational issues, propose solutions, and drive implementation to improve reliability and user experience.
  • Manage and resolve advanced incidents and requests, including ownership of high-complexity tickets and appropriate escalation to senior leadership when needed.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for system configurations, standards, and procedures, including content needed for risk assessments and validation activities.
  • Research and recommend innovative, automated approaches to system administration and infrastructure management.


Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum three years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure services; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Deep understanding of identity and access management (Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, SSO).
  • Proven ability to manage Intune-based endpoint management and Autopilot provisioning.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a track record of structured problem solving.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical topics into actionable insights.
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and managing risk across applications and systems in alignment with security and compliance standards.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, KQL, or similar languages.
  • Experience using Copilot, PowerPlatform or other AI tools to automate or enhance IT workflows.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and a mindset oriented towards innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Core Competencies: Interpersonal skills, effective communication, independent judgment, ownership mindset, teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, project management, ability to drive work to completion, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, high attention to detail and strong adaptability in a fast-changing environment.


Working Conditions
  • Hybrid role based in the Chicago office; minimum of three days per week on site (subject to change at management's discretion).
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work and periodic overnight travel as business needs dictate.


The anticipated base salary range for this position is $112,000 to $140,000.

The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. Final determination of the actual base salary offered depends on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills, experience, education, location, and business needs. Employees are eligible for equity or long-term incentive awards, where applicable. Field Sales role employees are eligible for a quarterly commission structure. Non-Sales role employees are eligible for an annual bonus. The Company also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes additional elements such as paid time off benefits, various health, vision, and dental insurance options, 401(k) retirement benefits and more for eligible employees. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
