OverviewThe Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and reviewing structural systems for a variety of projects. This role involves leading engineering efforts, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing technical guidance to junior staff. The Senior Structural Engineer may also support client communication, project management, and business development activities.
Responsibilities- Lead the structural design of water and wastewater treatment plant facilities, buildings, industrial facilities, and other infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, mechanical/electrical teams, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments as needed.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and construction documents.
- Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Identify project risks and propose practical engineering solutions.
- Participate in client meetings and present technical recommendations.
- Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and technical documentation.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE ) license is required or able to obtain within 6 months.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design software.
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, AASHTO, and other relevant regulations.
- Experience preparing construction documents and technical reports.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
- SE license is a plus.
- Experience in municipality, industrial, commercial, utility, transportation, or energy projects.
- Experience managing projects and mentoring engineering teams.
- Familiarity with software such as STAAD, SAP2000, RISA, ETABS, RAM, or similar tools.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
Salary RangeUSD $85,259.20 - USD $155,000.00 /Yr.
