Senior Strategic Sourcing BuyerThe successful candidate will develop and execute category strategies, deliver sustainable cost improvements, strengthen supplier performance, and build high-value global partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Category Strategy and Market Expertise: Build deep expertise in assigned categories, including market trends, competitive dynamics, supplier capabilities, and emerging innovations.
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute commodity sourcing strategies that optimize the supply footprint and reduce total cost through approaches such as low-cost-country sourcing and value engineering.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain regular alignment with the extended business unit procurement team and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of category strategies.
- Commercial Negotiation: Lead supplier contract and pricing negotiations to secure competitive terms while establishing sustainable, long-term partnerships.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve trade working capital, purchasing controls, and cost analysis.
- Supplier Performance and Development: Actively manage the supply base and lead initiatives that strengthen supplier capability, performance, and accountability.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve supplier delivery, quality, and commercial issues.
- Analytics and Decision Support: Use data and analytics to optimize procurement processes and support informed make-or-buy decisions.
- Global Procurement Alignment: Collaborate with international teams to identify and leverage purchasing opportunities across all business unit regions.
- Business Results: Meet or exceed category objectives for cost savings, quality, material delivery, and supplier rationalization.
Qualifications and Experience- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Procurement Experience: At least five years of progressive procurement experience, with an emphasis on strategic sourcing.
- Global Sourcing: Demonstrated experience applying global sourcing methodologies.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Procurement Knowledge: Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and best practices.
- Digital Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
- Analytical Capability: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- ERP Systems: Working knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP system is preferred.
- Industry Experience: Experience in HVAC, engineering, industrial equipment, or a related industry is a plus.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $92,000-139,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
