OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems supporting mission-critical applications. This position may support either backend/software engineering with Python, C++, and RF-related applications or full-stack/UI development using modern JavaScript frameworks and data technologies.
What will you do?- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software applications and systems.
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design, functional, and performance requirements.
- Design and code new software and modify existing applications to introduce new functionality.
- Debug existing software, identify root causes, and correct defects.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments.
- Develop software supporting processing-intensive analytics, large datasets, real-time systems, and algorithm development.
- Develop and maintain database queries and interfaces for data repositories.
- Develop and implement algorithms to meet system functional and performance requirements.
- Review and test software components to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Develop and execute software test procedures and document results.
- Analyze system performance, application workflows, data usage, and technical problem areas to develop effective solutions.
- Modify software to support new hardware, improve performance, and address changing requirements.
- Write and maintain software and system documentation.
- Recommend improvements to software development processes and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and other technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support software reuse and the integration of COTS/GOTS solutions where appropriate.
Do you have what it takes?- TS/SCI with Poly required
- 7+ years of Software Engineering experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Four additional years of Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting software applications.
- Experience translating user and system requirements into software solutions.
- Experience working independently as well as within collaborative software development teams.

VTG's estimated starting pay range is $210K-$250K annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
