Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a talented and driven Machine Vision Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge automated inspection and metrology systems for our advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In this role, you will bridge the gap between hardware and software, leveraging C++ and MVTec HALCON to build high-performance, real-time vision algorithms that ensure sub-micron accuracy and high throughput.
Key Responsibilities- Algorithm Development: Design, optimize, and implement robust machine vision algorithms using MVTec HALCON and C++ for semiconductor defect detection, alignment, metrology, and 2D/3D inspection.
- Software Engineering: Write clean, maintainable, and high-performance C++ code in a multi-threaded, multi-process real-time Windows or Linux environment.
- Hardware Integration: Interface software with industrial cameras (GigE), frame grabbers, optics, and specialized lighting systems.
- System Calibration: Develop and calibrate high-precision coordinate transformation matrices (pixel-to-world) to ensure micron-level spatial accuracy.
- Collaboration & Testing: Partner with mechanical, electrical, and automation engineers to test, debug, and validate vision systems on actual manufacturing tools.
- Domestic and international travel is required for this position, up to 30%.
Qualifications- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in machine vision software development, specifically within the semiconductor or high-precision electronics manufacturing industry.
- Core Languages: Proficient in C++ with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and memory management.
- Vision Libraries: Extensive, production-level experience using MVTec HALCON (HDevEngine or HALCON/C++ integration).
- Domain Knowledge: Proven familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes (e.g., wafer inspection, die bonding, wire bonding, or packaging).
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Mathematical Foundation: Strong background in digital image processing, matrix mathematics, 2D/3D geometry, and camera calibration.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)- Experience with additional vision/GUI libraries like OpenCV.
- Familiarity with SECS/GEM communication protocols.
- Knowledge of deep learning extensions within HALCON for anomaly detection.
Compensation & Growth• Base Salary Range:
$115,200.00 - $172,800.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
- Additional Rewards: Annual bonus opportunities and potential long-term incentives tied to both company and individual success.
