About the RoleAmerican United is hiring Senior Engineers to design, build, and deploy cloud-based data and application solutions. You'll work primarily in Python on Azure, with Databricks and modern DevOps practices, and you'll use AI-assisted developer tools to deliver high-quality software faster. Some positions also involve Java and Spring Boot or machine learning workloads.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain Python applications and data pipelines
- Build and manage data solutions using Databricks and Delta Lake
- Deploy and operate workloads on Azure (Azure ML, Azure Container Apps) or IBM Cloud / IKS, depending on the team
- Write and optimize SQL queries and shell scripts to support data processing and automation
- Develop and maintain Java / Spring Boot services (select positions)
- Build and train machine learning models with TensorFlow (select positions)
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions
- Use AI-assisted developer tools to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile team ceremonies
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, and document solutions and best practices
Required Qualifications- Strong, hands-on experience with Python development
- Experience with Azure cloud technologies (Azure ML, Azure Container Apps) or IBM Cloud / IKS
- Working knowledge of Databricks and Delta Lake
- Proficiency in SQL and shell scripting
- Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions for source control and CI/CD
- Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with TensorFlow and ML model development or deployment
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Azure Container Apps, Kubernetes / IKS)
- Familiarity with additional Azure services relevant to data and ML workloads
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
