Full Job Description
The Role

We're looking for a Frontend Engineer to join the Care Platform Clinical Workflows team at Ro. In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain purpose-built provider flows - the web interfaces clinicians use to deliver care - engineered to drive the best possible patient outcomes while making the most efficient use of a provider's time.

You'll help shape the technical roadmap and own initiatives from ideation through design, implementation, and maintenance. You'll partner closely with product, design, data, and clinical teams to translate complex clinical processes into intuitive, reliable, and compliant experiences that help Ro scale care delivery for millions of patients.

What You'll Do

  • Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of new provider flows that power Ro's clinical workflows
  • Build visually engaging, intuitive interfaces that help clinicians deliver care efficiently and safely, and help patients seamlessly achieve their health goals
  • Operate as an owner within your team's domain, proactively assessing and improving application performance, accessibility, and reliability
  • Drive engineering excellence through best practices in testing, monitoring, observability, and performance optimization
  • Actively contribute to the team's architectural vision and technical roadmap
  • Collaborate on code reviews and technical design documents to ensure consistent application of best practices across the frontend platform
  • Work closely with product, design, data, and clinical stakeholders to build the best possible experiences for our providers and patients
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability of production systems

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Demonstrated experience building accessible, visually engaging web applications with an eye for intuitive user-facing experiences
  • Proficiency with React and TypeScript, plus a strong grasp of UI architecture, and client-side performance
  • Comfort working at scale in a Turborepo monorepo with a shared design system - styled-components, TanStack Query, React Aria, and Playwright/Storybook-driven testing (strong fundamentals matter more than prior experience with our exact stack)
  • Hands-on experience with metrics instrumentation and data-driven performance tuning, using qualitative user feedback and quantitative analytics to identify opportunities
  • A strong sense of ownership for your work, from initial technical design and implementation through to monitoring for issues and opportunities after shipping
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and product designers to create the best possible products
  • Genuine care for the user experience, and the ability to quickly assess the right solution to achieve product and design goals in an elegant manner

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in telehealth or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience building complex, multi-step workflow or form-driven interfaces

We've Got You Covered

  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance + OneMedical membership
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care FSA
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Wellbeing + Learning & Growth reimbursements
  • Paid parental leave + Fertility benefits
  • Pet insurance
  • Student loan refinancing
  • Virtual resources for mindfulness, counseling, and fitness

The target base salary for this position ranges from $182,300 to $220,000, in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. These considerations may cause your compensation to vary.
