What you'll get to work on
The Flare platform's search engine is built on top of Elasticsearch and Postgresql databases with billions of entries. We are looking to hire an experienced data developer to join our development team in order to accelerate the search capabilities of our platform and increase its scalability. This is a role for someone who is autonomous, a quick learner and motivated to work on projects that will have an important impact on the development of the company's core technology.
Role and responsibilities:
- Design large scale distributed and resilient systems with high complexity to support our big data applications
- Leverage cloud and database infrastructure to solve such large scale problems
- Conduct feasibility studies for upgraded software systems
- Maintain our product's existing data systems while designing and supporting migrations that enable us to bring it to the next level without compromising on its current operations
- Design new software programs, data flows, and applications
- Develop tools and contribute to open source
- Use and automate new processes to keep a tested and high quality code base
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience building large scale data systems
- Experience using large SQL or ElasticSearch databases to solve complex data engineering problems
- Experience with some of the following technologies: Python 3, Flask, JavaScript, VueJS, Amazon Web Services, RabbitMQ and Kubernetes
- Experience designing scalable and complex database queries
- Ability to learn a variety of technologies quickly
- Ability to consistently deliver value over time by iterating on solutions
- Ability to support less experienced developer within their area of expertise
- Ability to communicate their decisions and tradeoffs about their designs
Good to have:
- Experience in cybersecurity
