Overview

The Senior Site Lead - Security Operations provides comprehensive leadership across all security disciplines and counterintelligence functions supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. This senior-level position is responsible for writing staff actions and formal reports, maintaining currency on evolving security requirements, and supporting Security Education, Training, and Awareness initiatives. The incumbent serves as the primary point of contact for all personnel actions including recruiting, retention, and hiring activities, ensuring the security operations team maintains full mission readiness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all security disciplines and counterintelligence functions to ensure comprehensive protection of Defense Threat Reduction Agency assets and information.
  • Draft, review, and coordinate staff actions and formal reports for government leadership approval.
  • Maintain currency on all applicable security requirements, directives, and policy updates affecting organizational operations.
  • Provide direct support to Security Education, Training, and Awareness initiatives, including development and delivery of security awareness training.
  • Conduct critical review of Force Protection documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Manage Enterprise Training Management System 2 for tracking personnel training requirements and completion status.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures governing security operations and protocols.
  • Maintain comprehensive continuity books to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and operational continuity.
  • Participate in Staff Assistance Visits to assess and improve security posture across supported elements.

Serve as primary point of contact for all personnel actions including recruiting, retention strategies, and hiring coordination.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance required.

  • Demonstrated expertise across personnel, physical, information, and industrial security programs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced security certifications, such as Security Professional Education Development Certification or Center for Development of Security Excellence Security Fundamentals Professional Certification.
  • Prior experience with Enterprise Training Management System 2 or similar enterprise training management systems.
  • Background in Security Education, Training, and Awareness program development and execution.
  • Experience supporting defense agency security programs.
  • Familiarity with Defense Threat Reduction Agency organizational structure and mission requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Job Location:

Fort Belvoir, Virginia, National Capital Region. This position requires 100% onsite presence; remote work is not authorized.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work onsite in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility environment; attend in-person briefings, meetings, and collaborative sessions. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and occasionally move between buildings and secure facilities within the installation. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
