We are seeking a Senior Security Operations Analyst to provide on-demand Cybersecurity and IT services to support the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) mission at the NIGC Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
So, what will the Senior Security Operations Analyst at Terrestris do?The Senior Security Operations Analyst monitors, detects, and responds to cybersecurity threats to protect the National Indian Gaming Commission's systems, networks, and sensitive data. They analyze security events, manage incident response, and help implement security controls to ensure compliance and operational resilience. In support of the NIGC mission, they also provide technical expertise to strengthen the agency's overall cybersecurity posture and support secure IT operations.
What does a typical day look like for a Senior Security Operations Analyst?You will:
- Perform security analysis activities accordingto established standards.
- Monitor systems for threats, analyze logs, andidentify suspicious activity.
- Develop and execute daily security analysis andreporting checklists.
- Evaluate effectiveness of analysis processes andrecommend improvements.
- Support continuous monitoring and proactivethreat hunting.
- Develop detection and response policies toenhance automation and alerting.
- Develop incident handling procedures.
- Execute incident response activities perestablished plans.
- Ensure adequate data collection forinvestigations and situational awareness.
- Collect metrics and generate threat and securityposture reports.
What qualifications do you look for?You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:
- Authorization to permanently work in the UnitedStates without sponsorship.
- A Bachelor's degree and/or relevantcertifications (Security+, CASP+, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, SC-100/200, AZ-500,etc.).
- A minimum 6 years of continuous experience insecurity operations or security analysis.
- Experience performing security monitoring, loganalysis, threat detection, continuous monitoring, and proactive threat hunting.
- Hands-on experience with security analysis toolsand reporting processes.
- Experience supporting incident responseactivities and incident handling procedures.
- Ability to develop reporting checklists,detection policies, and automation improvements.
- Ability to analyze and report on securityposture and metrics.
- Ability to work independently with minimalsupervision.
- Must meet Public Trust clearance and federalcompliance requirements.
