Full Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Security Engineer for our Enterprise Security team. Threats facing modern organizations are changing fast, driven by AI, cloud complexity, and a growing attack surface. Enterprise Security protects Snowflake, our employees, and our customers by building and running endpoint security at enterprise scale. That covers endpoints and identities, and also the AI-assisted workflows and intelligent systems the modern enterprise now runs on.
AS A SENIOR SECURITY ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
• Deploy, maintain, and scale Snowflake's endpoint security solutions, including EDR, DLP, secure browser, MDM, and AI security tools, across a multi-cloud, multi-SaaS environment, and contribute to architecture decisions as we grow.
• Build automation and tooling with software engineering and AI to reduce toil, improve detection fidelity, and speed up response.
• Monitor security events, investigate incidents, and build detection and prevention controls that protect against endpoint compromise and data exfiltration.
• Run risk and threat analyses on the endpoint fleet, then drive remediation of the vulnerabilities you find through to resolution, applying zero-trust principles to reduce the attack surface.
• Help write and roll out security policies, procedures, and standards for endpoint protection, in line with relevant compliance frameworks.
• Work with Security, Engineering, IT, and Product partners to implement secure practices, and give technical guidance to employees and end users.
• Uphold high standards in threat modeling, detection quality, and incident response, and share knowledge with teammates through reviews and documentation.
OUR IDEAL SENIOR SECURITY ENGINEER WILL HAVE:
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in information security, such as security engineering, detection, threat intelligence, or incident response, with a focus on endpoint security.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java, C, C++, or JavaScript, plus experience using AI-assisted development.
• Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining endpoint security tools (e.g., EDR, DLP, MDM, secure browsers) across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, network protocols, application platforms, and endpoint security concepts and best practices.
• Experience owning well-scoped technical projects from design through delivery with limited supervision.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
BONUS POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING:
• Experience with AI security solutions or securing AI-assisted workflows.
• Experience with infrastructure from major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and enterprise SaaS platforms at scale.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+.
• Ability to explain security concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
