Location: Vandalia, OH (onsite) Vacancy Type: Existing Position Schedule: Full-Time Travel: Regular travel to customer locations, industry events, and Johnson Electric sites
As our next Senior Sales Manager, you'll be at the forefront of expanding Johnson Electric's presence in the data center liquid cooling market. Your expertise in commercial strategy, thermal management, pump technologies, engineered solutions, and strategic account development will be critical in opening priority accounts, securing design wins, and translating market needs into a scalable product portfolio and roadmap.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for data center cooling pumps and related motion solutions across the Americas
Identify, prioritize, and penetrate strategic accounts throughout the liquid cooling value chain
Build relationships with commercial, engineering, product, and executive decision-makers
Use your industry network and market credibility to create access to new customers, early-stage programs, and strategic partnerships
Develop account strategies that define customer requirements, competitive positioning, decision processes, and the path to design-in and production awards
Own the commercial process from opportunity identification and technical alignment through quotation, negotiation, design win, launch, and revenue ramp-up
Translate customer and market requirements into portfolio priorities, including performance, reliability, controls, communication protocols, materials, packaging, cost, and certification requirements
Partner with Product Management and Engineering to define the data center cooling pump portfolio and identify product or capability gaps
Influence the product roadmap by connecting development priorities with customer demand, revenue potential, margins, investment requirements, and time to market
Recommend where standardized solutions can be applied and where customer-specific adaptations are required
Develop market-sizing, customer-segmentation, and competitive-intelligence analyses
Create business cases for new products, platform extensions, and strategic investments
Establish revenue, pipeline, and design-win targets and maintain a disciplined opportunity funnel
Provide accurate forecasts, risk assessments, and recovery plans
Lead cross-functional pursuit teams to develop competitive solutions and secure strategic programs
Develop customer value propositions and commercial strategies that balance competitiveness, investment recovery, and long-term profitability
Represent Johnson Electric at customer meetings, conferences, and relevant industry forums
Coach sales resources supporting the segment and help build organizational capability within data center cooling
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
At least eight years of progressive experience in commercial leadership, business development, product management, or sales
Relevant experience in data center cooling, liquid cooling, thermal management, pumps, fluid handling, or a closely related market
Demonstrated success developing new customers and winning complex engineered-product programs
Experience managing extended qualification, design-in, launch, and production cycles
Strong knowledge of the data center cooling ecosystem, customer buying processes, application requirements, and competitive environment
Ability to engage credibly with both technical and commercial stakeholders
Ability to translate customer applications and technical requirements into product priorities and business cases
Proven ability to influence product direction and lead cross-functional teams without relying solely on direct authority
Strong strategic thinking, financial judgment, negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills
Ability to create structure and direction in a developing market with incomplete information
Willingness to travel regularly based on business and customer needs
Bonus Points If You Have
Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
Established relationships with cooling equipment OEMs, CDU manufacturers, hyperscalers, system integrators, or liquid cooling solution providers
Experience with pump technologies and data center liquid cooling applications
Knowledge of direct-to-chip cooling, coolant distribution units, coolant distribution loops, or immersion cooling support systems
Experience working with controls, communications protocols, electronics cooling, or variable-speed motor technologies
Familiarity with the reliability, certification, and technical standards associated with mission-critical cooling systems
Experience working within a global manufacturing organization
Experience bringing engineered products from concept through qualification and scaled production
Proven success building new markets, developing portfolios, and mobilizing cross-functional teams around strategic growth opportunities
