Your Role

As part of Capgemini's continued growth agenda in Automotive, we are seeking an experienced Director to help clients envision, shape, and deliver data-led transformation across the automotive value chain. This leadership role combines consulting excellence, industry expertise, commercial acumen, and delivery ownership to drive strategic engagements with OEMs, suppliers, dealers, mobility providers, and connected ecosystem partners. You will bring a strong point of view on how data, analytics, AI, cloud, and digital platforms can unlock measurable business value across connected vehicles, manufacturing operations, supply chain, customer experience, aftersales, mobility services, and enterprise transformation. The role is based in Detroit, MI or Chicago, IL and will play a key part in expanding our Automotive Data & AI practice, developing our people, and delivering outcomes that reflect Capgemini's commitment to client impact, innovation, and responsible technology. In this role, you will play a key role in:
• Leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver strategic, technology-enabled transformation programs with quality, pace, and measurable client outcomes.
• Shaping differentiated Automotive Data & AI propositions in collaboration with Capgemini's global industry, technology, and delivery networks.
• Building trusted C-suite and senior stakeholder relationships while growing our Automotive business across OEMs, Tier suppliers, retailers, captive finance, mobility, and connected services organizations.
• Harnessing the breadth of Capgemini to bring together strategy, design, data, AI, cloud, engineering, and platform capabilities to deliver transformational value for clients.

As part of this leadership role, you will also contribute to the growth of our business, the development of our people, and the continued evolution of our Automotive Data & AI market position through activities across the following areas:
• Business Development - Lead and contribute to proposals, RFPs, origination, account expansion, executive client conversations, market campaigns, and sector-specific proposition development.
• Practice Leadership - Shape offerings, thought leadership, accelerators, internal communities, recruiting activities, knowledge assets, and go-to-market initiatives that strengthen our Automotive Data & AI capability.
• People Development - Coach, mentor, and develop consultants and specialists, supporting career growth, capability building, certifications, and the skills needed to meet evolving client demand.

Required Skills and Experience
• Demonstrated success originating, shaping, selling, and delivering data, analytics, AI, and digital transformation programs across the automotive value chain, including vehicle lifecycle, connected products, manufacturing, supply chain, customer, dealer, aftersales, and mobility domains.
• Deep understanding of North American Automotive business processes and operating models, with experience serving OEMs, Tier suppliers, retailers, captive finance, or mobility organizations.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to build compelling business cases, define transformation roadmaps, develop investment models, and deliver measurable business outcomes for clients.
• Significant experience gained in consulting, with credible sector expertise in automotive, manufacturing, mobility, industrials, or adjacent technology-enabled transformation environments.
• Consultative experience with a top-tier consulting services provider, including demonstrated ability to advise senior clients, shape transformation agendas, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and deliver high-impact outcomes through structured consulting methods.
• Currently operating in a major consulting firm, technology services organization, or relevant industry leadership role, ideally with prior consulting experience and proven success in a matrixed, global organization.
• Strong track record in proposition development, solution shaping, executive storytelling, and delivery leadership across complex, multi-workstream engagements.
• Established business development capability, leveraging Capgemini relationships, account teams, partner ecosystems, and personal networks to identify, shape, and convert growth opportunities.
• Ability to lead executive workshops with automotive clients to identify strategic priorities, business pain points, data maturity, process opportunities, solution pathways, target operating models, and value realization plans.
• Ability to define and own solution approaches across automotive data platforms, analytics products, AI/ML use cases, data governance, Master Data Management, cloud modernization, system integration, and enterprise architecture.
• Experience leading teams of architects, data specialists, engineers, and business consultants to design, build, and scale practical solutions that address client priorities and create sustainable impact.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify whitespace opportunities, cultivate trusted relationships, and grow the business within strategic automotive accounts.
• Ability to promote program, solution, and team success internally and externally, translating delivery outcomes into repeatable client value stories and market-facing credentials.
• A strong point of view on Automotive Data & AI opportunities, including connected vehicle intelligence, manufacturing analytics, supply chain resilience, customer 360, dealer performance, aftersales optimization, enterprise data platforms, and responsible AI adoption.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $150,000 to $200,000

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
