We are currently searching for an experienced
Senior Roadway Engineer to support our
Mid AtlanticRegion located in
Springfield or Virginia Beach, VA.To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
What you'll be doing:- Leading or assisting in the development of project designs and directing engineers and designers to successfully execute and deliver project work, while implementing client focused strategies
- Developing and checking engineering estimates, construction specifications, and coordinating with subconsultants
- Applying established and well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, policies, or standards
- Preparing reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for projects
- Working in a team environment team to deliver a range of transportation and civil design projects and participating in business development efforts and meetings with clients.
- Participating in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. Coordinating work to ensure best practices with all team members
- Identify and analyze problems using reasoning to arrive at conclusions
- Apply standard practices and techniques to accomplish work assignments
- Understand and adhere to assigned phase and task schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of project
- Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual
What you need to have:- BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- 8 - 15+ years relevant experience in roadway design
- Must have proven skills in meeting DOT expectations, schedules, and budgets
- Written and communication skills
- VDOT experience is preferred but not required
- PE preferred
- Experienced in DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications
- Proficient with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
