ABOUT THE TEAMConnected Warfare (CW): TheConnected Warfaresimulaivision builds systems to support global command and control missions. We create joint, time sensitive, multi domain, ubiquitous, connected mesh ecosystems. Our ecosystem enables connected warfare with disproportional impact by connecting every mac robot, human, and sensor in every domain, bringing together hundreds of thousands of end points across the globe. We are the substrate that provides the source of truth for time sensitive decision, effectively transforming the way that militaries close kills chains and enable mission autonomy.
Warfighter Systems (WS): Warfighter Systemsbrings cutting-edge technology directly to those on the front lines. Wearable tech, immersive mission command tools, and seamlessly integrated software and hardware create an ecosystem that enhances situational awareness, survivability, and combat effectiveness. From training to battlefield operations, Anduril's Warfighter Systems organization designs tools that move at the speed of war, ensuring that soldiers are better connected, more lethal, and more resilient.
ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a talented
Senior RF Design and Test Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Design team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and systems design teams, as well as our EMC and compliance groups, to deliver RF hardware that meets performance and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong compliance and validation instincts alongside solid RF and antenna design skills, ensuring hardware performs reliably and meets applicable regulatory and coexistence requirements before it ships. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who can bridge design and validation - taking a concept from schematic and simulation through chamber characterization and compliance sign-off.
WHAT YOU'L DO- Ensure RF designs comply with relevant military and commercial communication system standards and protocols, and support spectrum authorization/certification processes for military RF systems.
- Evaluate designs against SAR and military RF exposure limits, coordinating testing as needed.
- Assess coexistence and desense between onboard radios (e.g., UWB, GNSS, LTE) - distinguishing conducted vs. radiated coupling paths - and recommend mitigations for cross-band interference and antenna detuning.
- Bench and chamber test RF hardware and antennas (e.g., using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and antenna/anechoic chambers) to validate performance against requirements.
- Partner with EMC and mechanical engineering to root-cause field or test failures that span RF, electrical and mechanical domains.
- Design RF circuits and subsystems, including front-ends, amplifiers, filters, and transceivers; perform link budget and system-level RF analysis, including receiver saturation and sensitivity trade-offs.
- Design and integrate antennas and antenna arrays, balancing RF performance against mechanical and system constraints, including connector/mechanical interface tolerances.
- Support GPS/GNSS receiver design and integration, including active antenna bias circuits, filtering, and interference immunity.
- Utilize 3D EM simulation tools and S-parameter analysis to model and optimize RF and antenna performance.
- Review schematics and CAD designs for RF performance, signal integrity, and manufacturability.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a clearance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Familiarity with military and commercial communication system compliance standards, and, ideally, exposure to spectrum authorization or certification processes for military RF systems.
- Familiarity with SAR and military RF exposure limits (e.g., MPE) and how they influence antenna placement and design.
- Experience with multi-radio coexistence and desense analysis, including UWB emissions requirements, and the ability to distinguish conducted from radiated coupling mechanisms.
- Proficiency with RF bench equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator) and prior experience testing antennas in antenna/anechoic chambers.
- Hands-on experience designing and testing RF circuits, subsystems, or antennas, including antenna arrays.
- Working knowledge of GPS/GNSS receiver architectures, active antenna bias circuits, and RF connector/mechanical interface design considerations.
- Strong background in schematic reviews, CAD analysis, and RF/high-speed PCB layout best practices.
- Proficiency with 3D EM simulation software (e.g., Ansys HFSS, Altair FEKO, or CST Studio Suite) for S-parameter analysis and RF/antenna performance modeling.
