The Senior Revenue Cycle Project Manager is an experienced professional responsible for leading high-priority revenue cycle management projects for a clinical laboratory company. This role manages complex initiatives that support strategic RCM objectives, including system and vendor implementations, collection improvement efforts, workflow optimization, payer-related initiatives, reporting enhancements, and cross-functional process improvement projects. The Project Manager partners closely with Revenue Cycle leadership, Operations, IT, Finance, Compliance, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable operational and financial impact.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Lead and manage key revenue cycle projects from initiation through completion, including project planning, stakeholder alignment, execution, issue resolution, implementation, and post-project evaluation.
- Manage system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and optimization projects that support billing, collections, denial management, payment posting, eligibility, prior authorization, client billing, payer workflow, reporting, and other RCM functions.
- Coordinate vendor implementation projects, including requirements gathering, contracting support, implementation planning, testing, training, go-live readiness, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Drive collection improvement projects designed to reduce aged accounts receivable, increase cash collections, improve payer follow-up effectiveness, and strengthen overall revenue cycle performance.
- Partner with RCM leaders and operational teams to identify workflow gaps, root causes, process inefficiencies, payer issues, and system limitations that impact clean claim submission, reimbursement timelines, denial rates, AR aging, and cash realization.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, resource plans, risk logs, issue trackers, status reports, and executive updates.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, document decisions and action items, assign accountability, and ensure stakeholders remain aligned on project objectives, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Use data and performance metrics to assess project opportunities, define success measures, monitor progress, and evaluate post-implementation outcomes.
- Support development of standardized workflows, policies, procedures, training materials, dashboards, and communication plans related to RCM project initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between Revenue Cycle, IT, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Commercial, Client Services, and external vendors to ensure project requirements are understood and effectively executed.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, barriers, and change management needs; escalate issues appropriately and recommend practical solutions.
- Ensure RCM projects are completed in accordance with organizational policies, payer requirements, regulatory standards, data privacy expectations, and internal control requirements.
- Provide regular project updates to Revenue Cycle leadership and senior stakeholders, including progress against milestones, risks, key decisions, financial or operational impact, and recommended next steps.
- Support additional strategic RCM initiatives as assigned, including payer, client, automation, reporting, operational excellence, and revenue optimization projects.

EDUCATION & LICENSURE: - High School Diploma or GED is required.
Qualifications:- 8+ years of healthcare billing, revenue cycle, or customer service experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, tight timelines, and measurable business outcomes.
- Strong working knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle functions, including billing, collections, AR follow-up, denial management, payer workflows, payment posting, eligibility, authorization, coding-related workflows, claims submission, and reimbursement processes.
- Experience supporting system implementations, vendor implementations, workflow redesign, operational improvement projects, or technology-enabled transformation initiatives.
- Ability to analyze revenue cycle data, identify trends and root causes, translate findings into action plans, and communicate insights to operational and executive audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear project documentation, executive summaries, status updates, and stakeholder communications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and accountability for deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and project management tools..
