The Role: We are looking for a highly motivated, broadly skilled Senior Research Associate to join our growing Pharmacology team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on execution of rodent in vivo studies as well as coordination of studies with contract labs to support the progression of Abiologics' pipeline. The incumbent may also contribute to in vitro and ex-vivo pharmacology activities to progress projects and the platform, including molecular and cell biology assays and histology. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with a diverse design-make-test team across Abiologics and have the opportunity to impact platform and company growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct in vivo (mouse) studies to characterize and assess the function, pharmacokinetics, and biodistribution of SynteinsTM, with increasing ownership of study design and interpretation.
- Perform hands-on dosing of mice (including intravenous and other routes) and isolation/processing of mouse blood and tissues.
- Comply with IACUC regulations regarding animal welfare and care.
- Collect and prepare tissues for histology, including fixation and embedding.
- Execute and optimize lab procedures such as tissue lysis and cell isolation, ELISA, Western blot, RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, and related cell/molecular biology assays supporting in vivo studies, including some cell culture.
- Coordinate with CROs to support the execution of external in vivo studies, including formulation and shipment of compounds.
- Analyze, interpret, and accurately document study and assay results in an electronic lab notebook and present findings in internal meetings.
- Apply troubleshooting and data analysis skills to resolve issues and improve study quality and throughput.
