Full Job Description

GFT is seeking a Senior RAM Engineer to join our Practice or CBG Team our of either Ontario, Alberta; or British Colombia.

Under limited supervision, the Senior RAM Engineer independently leads Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability programs for rail transit projects. The role provides technical leadership for RAM analyses, performance modeling, maintenance optimization, and lifecycle performance assessment.

 

The Senior RAM Engineer should possess a working knowledge of safety assurance principles and understand the integration between RAM and Safety activities within a RAMS framework.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Define project RAM strategies, plans, and requirements.
  • Lead RAM analyses for complex rail systems.
  • Establish RAM targets, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Lead development and review of FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RBD, Markov models, and related studies.
  • Define maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance intervals, and spare parts philosophies.
  • Review contractor RAM deliverables and provide technical recommendations.
  • Advise clients regarding operational performance and maintainability improvements.
  • Support validation of RAM requirements through testing and demonstration activities.
  • Integrate RAM activities with Safety, Systems Engineering, and Integration programs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide discipline leadership.
  • Support business development and client engagement activities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related STEM discipline.

  • 10+ years of RAM experience in transportation, rail, aerospace, defense, or similar industries.
  • Strong experience with reliability engineering methods and quantitative analyses.
  • Experience with CENELEC EN 50126 and related RAM frameworks.
  • Familiarity with system safety principles and hazard management.
  • Strong technical leadership and client interface skills.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $108,000.00 - $163,000.00. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
