Salary Negotiable

Experience and Education

  • Graduate of JRCERT accredited program in radiation therapy or equivalent. Five (5) years of progressive experience as Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT). Valid licensure as Medical Radiologic Technologist by Texas Department of Health (TDH).
  • Must have passed the registry exam as a Radiologic Technologist by American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) and have valid licensure. CPR training required.
  • Previous experience in Radiation Oncology Preferred.


Job Duties

  • Operates treatment machine to deliver prescribed treatment dose.
  • May provide working supervision to employees of lower grade as directed by Chief Therapist or Clinic Manager.
  • Prepares and educates patients for radiation therapy treatments; Administers radiotherapy treatment and monitors patient during treatment.
  • Coordinates patient scheduling and retrieval of patient records.
  • Assures radiation safety measures for patients and personnel.
  • Tracks, records and compiles all clinical research data of patients following departmental and IRB policies.
  • Participates in development of program\'s policies, procedures and quality assurance methods.
  • Discusses technical problems with supervisor and faculty to suggest corrections and/or solutions.
  • Performs computer driven dosimetry and all related treatment plan calculations.
  • Assists in commissioning, calibration, quality assurance and physical measurements as appropriate for system accuracy.
  • Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records.
