Overview

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer at our Manufacturing Facility in Louisville, KY.

Responsibilities

The Senior Quality Engineer provides advanced quality engineering leadership to ensure manufacturing operations and suppliers consistently deliver products that meet customer, regulatory, and food safety requirements. Drives continuous improvement through data analysis, root cause problem solving, and the development of robust quality systems that reduce risk and improve operational performance. Partners cross-functionally with manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to resolve complex quality issues, strengthen process capability, and support business objectives while exercising significant independence and technical judgment.

Quality Engineering & Continuous Improvement

  • Leads investigations of customer complaints and quality issues using structured root cause analysis to identify sustainable corrective actions.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives that reduce defects, improve process capability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Analyzes quality and process performance data to identify trends, evaluate risks, and recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains quality systems that support consistent product quality and regulatory compliance.

Manufacturing & Supplier Quality

  • Partners with manufacturing teams to improve product quality, process performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Supports supplier quality activities including qualification, specification development, performance monitoring, and corrective action implementation.
  • Collaborates across multiple manufacturing facilities to standardize quality practices and share best practices.

Compliance & Food Safety

  • Ensures compliance with applicable food safety, quality, and regulatory standards through effective quality system management.
  • Conducts internal audits, evaluates system effectiveness, and implements corrective actions that strengthen compliance.
  • Escalates potential food safety concerns and supports timely resolution to protect customers and the business.

Business Partnership

  • Provides technical quality expertise to cross-functional teams and influences decisions that improve product and process performance.
  • Communicates quality performance, investigation results, and improvement recommendations to internal stakeholders and customers as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in quality engineering or a closely related field.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in a related technical discipline.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality engineering principles, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and build collaborative working relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
