Senior Project Manager | Bouten Construction Company | Tri-Cities, WA

The Senior Project Manager provides leadership and oversight of multiple projects and is accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance. This role directs preconstruction planning, master scheduling, risk management, and on-site execution while mentoring and developing project teams. As a proven relationship-builder, they partner with clients, trade partners, and internal teams to deliver exceptional results, champion company processes, and foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Construction Knowledge:
    • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in the construction of the assigned market sector or project type.
    • Trains staff on technical construction methods, means, and techniques.
    • Develops and implements innovative construction solutions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Actively mentors project teams in all scopes of work and trade partner coordination.
  • Safety:
    • Serves as a champion of a strong safety culture across all projects.
    • Supports implementation of safety processes in collaboration with the Superintendent and Safety Director.
    • Maintains working knowledge of building safety codes, ICRA processes, and OSHA standards.
    • Participates in safety stand-downs, incident investigations, and near-miss reporting.
    • Ensures safety requirements are reviewed and in place prior to project start.
    • Identifies safety process improvements.
  • Quality:
    • Supports planning and execution of Quality Without Compromise in partnership with QC department.
    • Engages QC early to align project-specific needs.
    • Contributes to company-wide QA/QC best practices.
    • Facilitates a lessons-learned process to drive quality improvements.
  • Leadership:
    • Partners with PX, SUP, Safety, QC, Warehouse, HR, and Accounting for integrated project execution.
    • Coaches, mentors, and develops team members to advance career growth.
    • Holds teams accountable to performance goals and project delivery standards.
    • Assists with staffing, recruiting, and building cohesive project teams.
    • Champions company initiatives, Lean practices, and cultural values.

    • Oversees project documentation including daily logs, inspections, schedules, labor tracking, constraints, budgets, and procurement.

  • Preconstruction:
    • Contributes to constructability reviews.
    • Supports development of master schedules, logistics plans, and labor tracking systems.
    • Leads bid packaging, leveling and buyout.
    • Leads subcontracting review and approval process.
  • Project Planning:
    • Ensures all permits, contracts, insurance, and logistics are in place before mobilization.
    • Confirms all startup checklists and meeting schedules are completed.
  • Risk Management:
    • Understands contract requirements and works with Superintendent to mitigate risks.
    • Leads procurement of long-lead items and selection of trade partners.
    • Performs weekly site walks with a risk mitigation focus.
    • Audits documentation and adherence to company standards.
    • Directs team members (employees and consultants) at all levels of contract administration.
  • Schedule Management:
    • Supports Superintendent with development and maintenance of master schedules across all projects.
    • Supports Lean processes and mentors across all projects.
    • Audits 6-week look-ahead for accuracy.
    • Continuously refines methods to improve schedule adherence.
    • Tracks critical path impacts with contract requirements.
  • Finance:
    • Works with project teams to resolve budget challenges and control costs.
    • Audits labor tracking logs to ensure alignment with construction plans.
    • Assists with labor budget issues as needed.
    • Leads monthly forecasting process.
    • Aids clients in establishing initial budgets used as a guideline for owner funding processes, followed by development of the final project budget once the scope is defined. Budget development may include conducting a competitive bid process, negotiating time and materials contracts, or other methods.
  • Relationships - Sales/Client/Trade Partners/Vendors Development:
    • Delivers presentations that contribute to securing future work.
    • Develops strong relationships with clients, trade partners, vendors, inspectors, and unions.
    • Understand and execute to our clients conditions of satisfaction's.
  • Technology:
    • Evaluates and implements technology solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
    • Supports best practices and training for new systems.
    • Demonstrates success in managing a portfolio of projects and/or a market sector.
    • Participates in industry events, boards and community engagement opportunities

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $137,000 to $182,000.
