Full Job Description
We are currently hiring for a Senior Project Management Engineer at our Ashland location. This Engineer will manage large engineering projects, support the engineering team in processing new applications and designs, and aid in the development, maintenance, and continual improvement of Engineering tools, processes, and systems.

Duties / Responsibilities

Project Management (primary function)
  • Initiates, plans, monitors, and reports on large engineering projects (>$1M)
  • Uses industry-standard project management tools and techniques to facilitate successful project completion
  • Generates and maintains project documentation to facilitate project planning and execution
  • Establishes project team, scope, plan, schedule, budget, resources and quality requirements to align with customer expectations, legal and regulatory requirements, and organizational needs
  • Communicates regularly and effectively with project team and stakeholders to keep efforts aligned with project requirements

Senior Engineer Responsibilities (secondary function, limited capacity)
  • Helps monitor incoming applications to ensure application coverage and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Provides support to the sales and engineering teams to aid in the development of new markets and programs.
  • Performs design reviews at the drawing approver level for other designs generated in the department.
  • Aids in the development, maintenance and continual improvement of Engineering Department tools, processes, and systems.
  • Mentors less-senior engineers through the delivery of training topics and coaching in the proficiency of project engineering
  • Provides guidance to project engineers regarding the tailoring of design activities to support down-stream process efficiency

Applications and Design Engineering (tertiary function, limited capacity)
  • Works with the sales team and customers to process new applications in accordance with Porvair process specifications
  • Provides expert technical consultation to sales team and directly to customers on product requirements.
  • Maintains Engineering Documentation for projects as required by the governing Quality Management System
  • Produces detailed drawing packages including customer-approval drawings as well as manufacturing drawings and component drawings.
  • Assists Manufacturing Engineering in the formulation of work instructions for manufacturing as well as providing additional manufacturing instructions and procedures where required.

Other related duties as assigned be Engineering Manager or General Manager

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Demonstrable, advanced proficiency in new product development, including in-depth knowledge of relevant manufacturing methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary project management and organizational skills
  • A rigorous, effective, and efficient approach to solving engineering challenges
  • Superior problem-solving aptitude
  • Technological proficiencies including MS Excel, MS Project and Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD, MathCAD
  • Demonstrable mastery of the performance of Project Engineering duties in accordance with PFG standards and expectations, or similar
  • Proficiency in the generation of mathematical and computational models of physical systems pertaining to filtration

Work Environment: Collaborative; largely based in-office

Physical Demands: This role may require long periods of working at a computer or desk, and light physical activity.
