DescriptionThe Senior Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities and supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept development through execution. Working closely with project managers, discipline leads, and clients, you will provide technical leadership, manage engineering interfaces, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
What You'll DoProject Leadership & Execution- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design activities throughout all phases of project execution.
- Act as a key engineering interface between clients, project managers, discipline leads, and stakeholders.
- Support project planning, scope development, scheduling, and resource requirements.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed safely, accurately, and within project objectives.
- Participate in project reviews, risk assessments, and technical evaluations.
- Assist with resolving technical and project-related challenges.
Technical & Client Leadership- Provide technical guidance to engineering and design teams.
- Review engineering deliverables for quality, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
- Develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and execution.
- Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and technical discussions.
- Support continuous improvement and project delivery excellence.
Project Controls & Reporting- Support project managers with planning, forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and change management activities.
- Monitor project progress and engineering performance.
- Prepare and review project reports, technical recommendations, and supporting documentation.
About You- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA.
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of experience within an EPCM, consulting engineering, or owner/operator environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects within the oil and gas or energy sectors.
- Strong understanding of engineering workflows, project execution, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Proven ability to build client relationships and coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting brownfield and greenfield engineering projects.
- Experience delivering multidisciplinary projects within the energy, industrial, or oil and gas sectors.
- Experience supporting projects through various stages of development and execution.
- Strong understanding of EPCM project delivery practices.
