Join Us as a Senior Program Underwriting SpecialistThe OpportunityReporting to the Assistant Vice President, Programs, and working closely with senior business leaders and peers support business and opportunities of various commercial lines programs in Canada via a delegated underwriting authority. It will require a creative, solutions-based approach to program underwriting, and high customer service for our delegated underwriting authority partners.
What You'll Be Doing - Identify and evaluate exposures, determine the appropriate coverage, terms and conditions, limits, pricing, facultative reinsurance requirements, and negotiate with brokers and MGA's on all new and renewal program business.
- Assist with referrals and escalations under the Delegated Underwriting Authority of brokers and MGA's programs
- Building insurance wordings and agreements
- Build, monitor and audit new and existing commercial programs
- Underwrite and audit existing business and renewals.
- Ensuring all files are well documented and comply with departmental requirements
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with reinsurers, brokers, MGA's and partners
- Market presentations to brokers, MGA's and relationship management to help develop business
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across business lines for multi-line approach
- Grow target business and maintain profitability
- Ongoing learning and updating on changes in marketplace, insurance trends

- A university degree or college diploma
- 8+ years of industry experience, program underwriting preferred
- CIP or FCIP preferred
- Capability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- A high level of organizational skills and attention to detail.

- A customer focused mindset
- Enjoys working in a collaborative environment.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is (120,000-140,000). Compensation may vary for roles in other regions to reflect local market conditions and currency differences.
