Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. 

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide business leadership and guidance for a profit and loss stand-alone program or major business/program element where business needs dictate.
  • Responsible for the technical, cost, schedule, quality, and delivery performance of the program.
  • Major responsibilities include managing profit and loss, strategic planning, customer interface and relationships, maintaining program schedules, managing program cost, chairing program risk and change control boards, overall program performance and governance, short and long range business planning, affordability targets and budget allocation, implementing program standards and best practices, teaming, and posturing the program for subsequent phases.
  • Provide comprehensive technical and business leadership across the organization including oversight of Integrated Product Teams necessary to plan, execute, and control program performance.  
  • Apply knowledge of company processes, infrastructure, policies, business strategies, and products to plan, commit, and control the deployment of resources.
  • Ability to direct, develop, align, integrate, implement and manage program plans, strategies, and processes.
  • Ensure disciplined program change control, including effectively evaluating and managing major and minor program and process changes and customer requests.  
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities (in addition to the Spirit AeroSystems Leadership Fundamentals) - Financial Acumen, including analysis, Business Acumen, Political Acumen, Managing with Influence, Interpersonal relationships and communication, Teambuilding, Continuous improvement  
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited), Business, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of Aerospace Experience and 5+ years of experience in a management role.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Profit and Loss

  • Change Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain
  • Long Range Business Planning, Risk Management, Affordability Management, Product Configuration Management
  • Development and/or sustaining programs, Earned Value Management, Developing Proposals and Estimating (contracts)
  • Integrated Program Planning and Scheduling, Managing program scope, Cross-functional project management, Experience leading Integrated Product Teams (IPT's)
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma

Summary Pay Range: $130,600 - $200,300
