Job Description:

We are seeking a Program Finance Specialist to join our team supporting the development and manufacturing of in-space propulsion engines and systems at our Redmond, Washington site. In this on-site role, you will be part of the finance team driving financial excellence across a dynamic business.

As an experienced and independent finance leader, you will partner closely with technical and program teams to shape the financial direction of complex aerospace programs. You will build and maintain program financial models, deliver accurate reporting, analyze trends, and guide teams toward achieving operating plan objectives. Your expertise will directly influence critical decisions in revenue recognition, budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, contract strategy, and long-range planning.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages competing priorities with confidence, and takes initiative to resolve issues rather than escalate them. Clear communication, ownership of processes, and meticulous attention to detail are essential, along with strong knowledge of Earned Value Management, government contract accounting, and the fundamentals of disciplined program and financial management.

Your Responsibilities:

  • 40% - Work with program teams to manage monthly, quarterly, and multi-year program forecasts. Model and coordinate proposal financials. Build, maintain, and execute program budgets using EVM and budgeting best practices.
  • 20% - Develop Quarterly Estimate at Completes (EAC) and ensure accuracy of actual and estimated costs and provide sufficient rationale for EAC decisions to senior and executive leadership.
  • 20% - Produce and deliver financial reporting to government customers and internal stakeholders.
  • 15% - Analyze monthly cost, revenue, cash, and orders data to support the accuracy of financial forecasts and measure the business unit's financial health. Act at finance lead for the Annual Operating Plan development, and track performance throughout the year.
  • 5% - Provide quick ad hoc analysis with high proficiency in large scale data management through Excel, Hyperion, and Essbase.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 6 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business role
  • Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business role
  • Experience in EVM
  • Experience owning financial models and budgets
  • Experienced in supporting end-to-end proposal management


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Graduate Degree or higher certification (MBA, MS Accounting, CPA)
  • Advanced Financial modeling
  • Cost estimating and BOE development expertise
  • Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS and government contracting lifecycle
  • High proficiency with large-scale data environments
    • SQL or Power BI
    • data automation pipelines
    • integrating disparate financial/engineering datasets
  • Prior experience with EVM tools, SAP or Oracle project modules
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to draw conclusions from large data sets, Scenario modeling and financial decision-support skills

  • Familiarity with aerospace or defense industry customer expectations
