Senior Production Scheduler - Millennium Space Systems

Company:
Millennium Space Systems

Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. Our missions have direct impact to global security, like missile warning and Earth observation.

Our team is curious, bold and innovative. We take risks, innovate and explore new techniques and technologies. We influence change because we challenge the status quo. And when we watch our satellites launch, we know each one of us made it happen.

Millennium Space Systems (MSS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Scheduler (Level 4) to join the MSS team in El Segundo, CA!

This role is accountable for establishing, maintaining, and owning production schedules and ECDs (Estimated/Expected Completion Dates) to ensure on-time delivery of program commitments. The Production Scheduler partners closely with Supply Chain, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, and other cross-functional teams to align material availability, capacity, and priorities.

This role is part of the Master Production Scheduling function and represents a more senior position, requiring demonstrated experience in complex manufacturing scheduling environments, preferably aerospace.

Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Establish, manage, and be accountable for ECDs and schedule commitments across assigned programs and work centers
  • Develop, baseline, and continuously maintain executable production schedules that reflect material availability, capacity, and labor constraints
  • Monitor schedule performance, identify risks and delays, and proactively develop recovery plans or schedule alternatives
  • Communicates schedule status, risks, and impacts clearly to program teams and leadership

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Supply Chain to align production schedules with material availability, lead times, and procurement constraints
  • Partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and other functional teams to ensure schedule feasibility and execution alignment
  • Support program planning and execution activities across all phases of production, from initial build planning through delivery

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks within current scheduling and execution processes
  • Recommend, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance schedule accuracy, execution efficiency, and cross-functional alignment
  • Support the transition away from manual or interim tools (e.g., spreadsheets) toward system-based scheduling and execution where applicable
  • Contribute to standard work, scheduling best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives within Manufacturing

Tools & Systems
  • Develop and manage schedules using advanced scheduling tools such as APS systems, Microsoft Project, or equivalent production scheduling software
  • Ensure schedules are properly integrated with enterprise systems (e.g., MRP/ERP) and serve as a reliable source of truth for execution
  • Support data-driven decision making through accurate schedule analysis and reporting
