POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Chief Geologist (or their delegate), the Senior Production Geologist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety, grade control and professional development of the production geology team. This role will ensure that the team works toward meeting or exceeding the company's safety and production objectives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Ensure production geology team members are working safely by providing adequate orientation and training before being allowed to work independently, and that proper personal protective equipment is being worn when required.
- Develop goals and objectives for production geology team members and conduct performance evaluations on all direct reports at mid-year and year end.
- Ensure that team members meet the requirements of their positions.
- Ensure a sufficient amount of grade control data is being collected to make timely decisions and accurate geologic models.
- Oversee the timely completion of all ore outlines and geologic information for use by engineering.
- Ensure definition drilling is scheduled, the core is logged to standard, and the geology is updated in the current active projects when drill programs are complete.
- Review and sign off diamond drill layouts and engineering layouts.
- Ensure governance of monthly grade reconciliation and grade prediction for short-, mid- and long-term planning (layouts, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets).
- Communicate with diamond drill contractor regarding drill setups, prioritizing drill programs, monitoring drill hole deviations and invoice discrepancies.
- Communicate with senior leadership on all strategic decisions dealing with the geologic process on grade estimation, grade control, resources and reconciliation.
- Communicate changes in geology and provide recommendations to engineering and production personnel as mine development or stopping progresses.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant corporate and mine site policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:- Degree from a recognized university in Geology.
- Professional Geoscientist Designation "P.Geo.") of Ontario or eligible to register.
- Minimum 10 years of overall underground experience, including at least 5 years of leadership experience.
- Proficiency with Deswik, Leapfrog,GeoticLog and other relevant software for development and long-hole plans.
- Strong understanding of grade control, sampling practices, block models, and interpretation of geology and drill results.
- Experience designing, targeting, and managing diamond drill programs.
- Knowledge of various mining methods used at the site.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with professionalism and confidentiality.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:- The role is located at the Frankfield Property, which is in the southwest part of Tully Township, approximately 32 km north-northeast of the City of Timmins, Ontario
- The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 4 days on and 3 days off (10-hour days). Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
