ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

onX is seeking a Senior Product Manager who will contribute to meaningful, real-world outcomes that have a lasting impact for customers and the business.

In this role, you'll focus on unlocking the unique, ground-truth knowledge our millions of outdoor customers generate every day as part of the Platform Product team. You will help build shared capabilities that can be adopted across onX's four Verticals-Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish-to support customer-generated data and new product experiences.

You'll partner closely with engineering, design, and product teams across the organization to understand customer needs, define scalable solutions, and help vertical teams build experiences on top of the platform.

This is a hands-on, discovery-oriented role for a product leader who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, bringing clarity to complex problems, and balancing the needs of Vertical Business Unitswith the long-term value of shared capabilities. You'll take ownership of your work, collaborate closely with partners across the organization, and help move initiatives forward in an environment where priorities evolve, learning is celebrated, and you're encouraged to keep stretching your skills.

This role will report to the Director of Product, Platform.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Essential Job Duties & Functions

Define the product strategy and build scalable platform capabilities
    • Develop the long-term vision and strategy for how onX collects, structures, and activates customer-generated data as a foundational Platform capability.
    • Lead discovery across customer needs, contribution behaviors, and product opportunities to identify and prioritize the highest-impact areas of investment, translating insights into a focused roadmap, clear priorities, and measurable product outcomes.
    • Own the shared platform capabilities that enable product teams across Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish to build customer-facing contribution experiences, partnering closely with engineering to deliver scalable, flexible, and reliable solutions.
    • Balance the needs of individual product teams with the long-term value of reusable capabilities that can support multiple customer experiences.

Evangelize and drive alignment across the organization
    • Work closely with product, design, engineering, and other cross-functional partners to understand customer problems and define shared requirements.
    • Champion the platform vision across product teams, building excitement, trust, and adoption of shared capabilities that accelerate customer-facing innovation.
    • Build alignment across stakeholders, communicate decisions and tradeoffs clearly, and create momentum in an ambiguous problem space.

Lead with trust and strong execution
    • Lead a cross-functional squad through discovery, product definition, delivery, measurement, and iteration.
    • Ensure customer trust, data quality, and responsible data use are considered throughout product development.
    • Establish feedback loops that help improve the platform and make it easier for teams to adopt over time.
    • Define success measures and use customer, product, and partner feedback to guide prioritization and continuous improvement.
    • Leverage AI as a repeatable co-pilot throughout the product lifecycle-from synthesizing customer research and identifying patterns to accelerating product definition, prioritization, and communication-while applying strong product judgment and validating outputs against customer needs and business objectives.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience leading software products or platforms, including at least 4 years in product management, with demonstrated experience building platform capabilities that enable mobile applications.
  • Demonstrated experience leading 0-to-1 or discovery-driven product initiatives, bringing clarity and momentum to ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Experience building platform capabilities, developer-facing products, APIs, SDKs, or other shared services adopted by multiple internal teams.
  • Proven ability to develop product strategy, define roadmaps, and make thoughtful prioritization and sequencing decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term scalability.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience influencing engineering, design, and product stakeholders in a matrixed environment without direct authority.
  • Experience in defining and measuring product success through meaningful metrics and using customer insights and data to guide product decisions.
  • Sound judgment when balancing customer value, technical complexity, quality, and trust in product decisions.
  • A hands-on operating style with the ability to move seamlessly between strategic thinking and day-to-day execution.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and practical experience using AI to improve product discovery, analysis, decision-making, and execution.
