Full Job Description
About the Role

Marketing Enablement is a newly formed squad that owns the systems and surfaces Marketing uses to reach and reward customers. The team's domain spans Betterment's promotions and offers framework (referrals, acquisition and tenured offers, promo codes, and the enrollment and redemption mechanics behind them), customer messaging and in-app content, marketing analytics and attribution, internal marketing ops tooling, and the technical foundation of our public website.

As the Senior Product Manager for Marketing Enablement, you'll own the roadmap for this new team and help shape how it operates from the ground up. You'll partner closely with Marketing to turn campaigns and offer ideas into product capabilities that can be reused, so marketers can do more on their own and we can measure what we ship. Offers at Betterment are financial incentives with real dollar costs and regulatory requirements, so you'll design mechanics like eligibility, enrollment, redemption, and clawbacks with the same rigor we apply to our investing products.

You'll run multiple projects at once from definition through launch, moving between strategy and implementation details, and working closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Analytics, Finance, Compliance, and other product teams.

This role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment's total compensation package for employees.
  • New York City: $145,000-$170,000

This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus.
A Day in the Life
  • Own the product roadmap across the promotions and offers framework, in-app messaging and content surfaces, marketing analytics, and the public website platform.
  • Partner with Marketing to translate campaigns and offer concepts into product capabilities we can reuse across future campaigns.
  • Design the mechanics of new offer types (referral rewards, rate boosts, investing rewards, promo codes), including eligibility, enrollment, redemption, and clawback handling, in partnership with Finance, Compliance, and other product teams.
  • Expand our customer messaging capabilities, including in-app cards and placements, segmentation and enrollment workflows, push-based data access, monitoring and alerting, and AI-assisted campaign build and QA.
  • Improve end-to-end marketing measurement, from ad platform events and site/app instrumentation through account opens and funding, so we optimize spend against actual customer outcomes rather than clicks or leads.
  • Build internal tooling that lets marketers create and manage in-app content and segmented offers with less engineering involvement.
  • Guide the technical evolution of betterment.com, including its content management stack, ongoing platform modernization, and new interactive experiences like calculators, in partnership with Web Operations.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery with Engineering, Design, Analytics, and Marketing from problem definition through discovery, specs, launch, and iteration.
  • Define and track success metrics spanning campaign velocity, offer enrollment and redemption, conversion and funding impact, and marketing efficiency.
What We're Looking For
  • Product management experience in fintech, consumer technology, or another domain where marketing, growth, and platform work intersect.
  • Experience building martech, CRM/lifecycle, promotions, growth, or internal platform products; hands-on familiarity with customer engagement platforms, event instrumentation, and web content management systems is a plus.
  • A track record of building self-serve tooling and shared capabilities for partner teams, and judgment about when a one-off build is the right call.
  • Strong analytical and data-informed decision-making skills, comfortable with funnel analysis, attribution, experiment design, and using metrics and qualitative inputs to set direction.
  • Proven success serving internal customers such as Marketing while holding a high bar for the end customer experience.
  • Enough technical depth to work with engineers on event data, third-party integrations, and system design tradeoffs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and storytelling skills; able to create clear specs and influence stakeholders across Marketing, Engineering, Design, Finance, and Compliance.
  • Strong sense of ownership and a track record of driving work forward in ambiguous environments.

Our Commitment to Your Total Well-being:
  • We offer a competitive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; life and AD&D insurance; short- and long-term disability; infertility support and WPATH-aligned transgender health benefits; an Employee Assistance Program (EAP); transit benefits and FSA and HSA options
  • Ownership: Equity for all employees, including new hire and refresher grants.
  • Time: Flexible paid time off, paid parental leave, and a fully paid four-week sabbatical in your sixth year.
  • Growth: Company-paid professional coaching for all employees.
  • Wealth: Day-one 401(k) match plus matching on qualified student loan payments.
