Job Title: Senior Product Development Engineer

Reports To: Executive Director of Product Innovation

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt

Position Purpose:

As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete product life cycle of products for the Aerospace and Defense Industries. Vaupell is looking for a person that will embody the key pillars of the Product Innovation Group: Sustainability, Efficiency and Innovation; to create a "leap" in value of products for our customers. The Senior Product Development Engineer is a key role in the design and development process of products that will redefine the future of the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, integrates, and documents design requirements to establish part/system design.
  • Designs, analyzes and maintains component and system designs, using CAD tools and/or other design methods, throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Applies design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Performs feasibility (prototype), functional and qualification testing for component and / or system designs.
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working models and documents.
  • Lead technical reviews including drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Designs new products proprietary to Vaupell.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline required
  • 7+ years' experience as a Product Development Engineer or similar role
  • Preferred aerospace product design experience
  • Preferred Floor to Floor aerospace cabin design experience
  • Experience managing complete product life cycle from SOW creation through project gate reviews, qualification (DO-160), FAA certification and delivery of product.
  • Knowledge of CATIA or similar CAD software required

Travel up to 15% may be required.
