What You’ll do
As a Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the company's procurement strategy, vendor partnerships, and contract management programs while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support business growth.
This role serves as a strategic business partner, using financial and operational analysis to challenge existing practices, identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong procurement expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset, balancing fiscal discipline with practical business solutions that support Rural King's growth objectives.
Procurement Strategy & Business Partnership
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, service, and operational efficiency across the organization.
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate spending, identify opportunities, and implement solutions that improve financial and operational performance.
- Challenge existing processes and vendor relationships to drive innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management to ensure favorable terms, service levels, and business outcomes.
- Oversee third-party service agreements, including utilities, waste management, construction, maintenance, and other enterprise vendors.
- Partner with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to assess risk, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with company policies.
Financial Analysis & Performance
- Analyze procurement, vendor, and spending data to identify trends, measure performance, and uncover opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Develop and report key performance indicators, savings initiatives, and procurement results to executive leadership.
Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor the procurement team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Governance & Compliance
- Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and contract management practices that support operational effectiveness and risk mitigation.

Essential Qualities for Success
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, contract management, or related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to analyze complex data, identify opportunities, challenge existing processes, and develop solutions that drive operational and financial performance.
- Entrepreneurial and results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to influence change, balance cost control with business objectives, and support organizational growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders and build cross-functional partnerships.
- Experience managing complex projects, priorities, and vendor relationships in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Experience negotiating supplier agreements, pricing structures, and contract terms that deliver value to the organization.
- Certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CFCM, CPPO, or CPPB preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $116,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
