The Team:
Price Group is a key function within the price assessment content organization, partnering closely with teams across Platts globally. The group is responsible for developing and maintaining pricing methodologies, supporting benchmark governance, and promoting market reporting best practices. Through its work, Price Group helps ensure adherence to Platts Editorial Standards and upholds the integrity and transparency of our price assessments.
Responsibilities and Impact:
As a Senior Price Group Partner, you will help shape the future of global commodity benchmarks by leading methodology development, strengthening governance practices, and supporting the evolution of commodity markets. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with market reporting teams, commodity leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure Platts' assessments remain trusted, transparent, and reflective of changing market dynamics.
- Lead the development, enhancement, and implementation of price assessment methodologies and benchmark initiatives across commodity sectors.
- Partner with commodity leadership and market reporting teams to ensure consistent application of methodology, strong editorial governance, and adherence to Platts Editorial Standards.
- Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on market developments, emerging opportunities, and evolving trading practices that may impact benchmark assessments.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in resolving methodology, assessment, and benchmark-related issues, including supporting complaint investigations, price reviews, and governance processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including market participants, industry groups, Commercial, Product, Technology, and Market Development teams, to support market engagement, methodology consultation, and market education initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement through training, mentoring, documentation management, and best-practice development to strengthen market reporting capabilities across global commodity teams.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in energy, commodities, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of price assessment methodologies, benchmark administration processes, and methodology governance.
- Significant experience in commodity markets, including trading dynamics, price formation, and market structure.
- Demonstrated expertise within at least one commodity sector and the ability to apply market knowledge across related markets.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across a global organization.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience engaging customers, industry participants, and senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within benchmark governance frameworks, including IOSCO Principles for Price Reporting Agencies and the EU Benchmark Regulation (EBMR).
- Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional projects from concept through implementation.
- Experience representing an organization at industry conferences, customer events, or professional forums.
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities, with the ability to mentor colleagues, drive accountability, and promote best practices.
- Analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and make sound, data-driven decisions.
