JOB DESCRIPTION:The OpportunityThis position works out of our Princeton, New Jersey location in the Abbott Point of Care, Rapid & Molecular Diagnostics division. In this role, as the
Senior Buyer Planner, you will be responsible for all areas of planning and purchasing of Raw Materials and Finished Goods for the i-STAT Blood Analyzer.
What You'll Work On- Plan and schedule TPM Raw Material and Finished Goods deliveries to optimize inventory stock to ensure continuity of supply to customers while balancing inventory costs.
- Prepares and places POs per requirements of MRP/requisitions and monitor / confirms delivery to required date. Negotiate ETAs as needed. Escalate to Procurement team when required.
- Follow the procedures around Purchasing and Planning by keeping records clearly documented and attached where required.
- Build Supplier and Third Party Manufacturer relationships and manage performance through key performance indicators (Supplier On Time in Full, Quality, SCARs, Responsiveness). Daily / Weekly / Monthly Scorecards, Weekly Supply Calls (International), Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Works with inventory / warehouse management to resolve issues. Monthly inventory management of excess, obsolete, expiring inventory. Develop / implement solutions to minimize inventory write-offs and proactively communicate potential risks to Finance.
- Manage new product introductions to achieve agreed upon launch dates with targeted launch inventory levels while developing and implementing plans that minimize phase out obsolescence.
- Lead cross functional Integrated Business Planning (3 - 36 month) for your portfolio.
- Lead special projects as requested to reduce costs, increase efficiency, etc.
- Be the site point of contact and subject matter expert for the i-STAT Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Supplier Interface.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business, Science, Engineering or in a related field of study.
- 7 years of professional experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experienced managing international Supply Chains Portfolios of over $20 million dollars per annum.
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office in particular Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of MRP (QAD, SAP), Quality & Manufacturing Systems software.
- Knowledge and experience with MRP, Purchasing, Production Principles, Lot Control, Statistical Data Analysis, ISO, GMP, JIT, ERP.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative in dealing with a variety of duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to build and use an effective network of people inside and/or outside the organization to give and receive information and to accomplish work objectives.
- Capability to develop contingency plans, establish clear and measurable strategies, execute them consistently, and communicate risks.
- Ability to go beyond purely operational tasks, demonstrating strong analytical skills, information interpretation, and sound decision making to drive continuous improvement, cost savings, and automation within your scope of work.
- APICS or other Planning/Procurement related certification is a plus.

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 - $156,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
