Design the Hardware Behind Life-Safety and Security Products

At Radionix, we create products that protect people, property, and businesses around the world. Our engineers develop intrusion detection systems, wireless sensors, control panels, communicators, and connected security products that are installed in millions of locations globally.

We are looking for a Senior PCB Design Engineer to join our product development team in Fairport, NY. In this role, you will work alongside hardware, firmware, RF, and mechanical engineers to transform ideas into manufacturable products. You will have a direct impact on products that move from concept through production and into the hands of customers worldwide.

If you enjoy solving complex layout challenges, optimizing designs for performance and manufacturability, and working on products that ship, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, RF, and mechanical engineers to meet design and performance requirements
  • Create and maintain schematics, symbols, footprints, and component libraries
  • Define PCB stack-ups and support controlled impedance, differential pair routing, DDR signaling, and signal integrity requirements
  • Perform or support signal integrity analysis of critical interfaces
  • Partner with PCB fabricators and assembly suppliers during prototype and production builds
  • Review designs for manufacturability, testability, reliability, and cost optimization
  • Support EMC and regulatory compliance through best-practice PCB design techniques
  • Resolve technical issues related to PCB fabrication and assembly
  • Contribute to PCB design standards, libraries, and engineering process improvements
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to share best practices and support new product development initiatives

Technologies You'll Work With
  • High-speed digital interfaces
  • RF technologies including Zigbee and LoRa
  • Mixed-signal and power electronics
  • Controlled impedance and differential pair routing
  • Signal integrity analysis
  • Multi-layer PCB design (2, 4, 6+ layers)
  • EMC and regulatory compliance-focused design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of PCB design experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience designing multi-layer PCBs for production environments
  • Strong understanding of schematic capture and PCB layout methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple design activities with limited supervision
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for project deliverables

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition, Mentor Graphics PADS, DxDesigner, and/or Altium Designer
  • Experience with controlled impedance, matched-length routing, differential pairs, and DDR designs
  • Understanding of PCB manufacturing, assembly, DFM, and DFA requirements
  • Experience supporting RF and wireless products including Zigbee and LoRa
  • Familiarity with HyperLynx or similar signal integrity tools
  • Understanding of PCB materials, fabrication processes, and impedance control techniques
  • Experience working directly with PCB fabrication and assembly suppliers
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and PTC Creo
  • IPC CID or CID+ certification

Why Join Radionix?
  • Design products used around the world to protect lives and property
  • Work with cutting-edge wireless, embedded, and life-safety technologies
  • Collaborate with experienced global engineering teams
