Full Job Description
The Position:

This position is awaiting contract award.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead contract execution and operational performance for the F/A-18 variants program at NAS Patuxent River. In this senior leadership role, you will serve as the principal administrator and overall lead for the contracted effort. You will act as the primary liaison to Government authorities, optimizing resource allocation and driving technical and administrative excellence to support critical naval aviation platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the overall lead, manager, and administrator for the entire contracted effort, ensuring all deliverables meet or exceed corporate and government standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and principal interface with Government program authorities on all complex technical, program, and project management issues.
  • Direct and monitor contractor execution of all performance metrics, statement of work (SOW) requirements, and operational milestones.
  • Manage the strategic acquisition, allocation, and employment of program/project resources, including staffing, budgeting, and asset deployment.
  • Proactively identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and establish operational workflows to maintain schedule and technical integrity.


Qualifications:
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
  • Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MS) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in program management, defense operations, or contract administration performing the functional duties described above.
  • Deep understanding of NAVAIR program office operations, defense acquisition pathways, and government contract management (FAR compliance).
  • Exceptional executive leadership, advanced conflict resolution capabilities, and the excellent communication skills required to brief high-level military and civilian stakeholders.
