Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a relevant design role (with a Bachelor's) or 2+ years (with a Master's).
• Proficiency in CAD software and understanding of FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
• Strong theoretical knowledge of Brushless DC Motors and familiarity with various motor types like Brushed PMDC, Universal, Induction, and Switched Reluctance motors.
• Solid grasp of motor controls, battery technology, and sound/vibration analysis.
• Insight into motor assembly and component design with cost and durability considerations.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot motors for complex projects.
• Establish and implement test regimens for components to support design verification.
• Conduct hands-on experiments and simulations, analyzing data to draw conclusions.
• Perform root cause analysis on motor test failures.
• Build and manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
• Understand and apply knowledge of Milwaukee Tool's development processes for efficient mass production.
• Effectively communicate project progress and escalate business risks as necessary.
• Create innovative motor designs optimizing performance for specific product requirements.
• Organize and lead technical meetings, facilitating collaboration across teams.
• Drive project timelines and metrics to meet organizational goals and enhance accountability.
• Act as a mentor and role model for junior engineers, promoting a culture of high performance.
