Position Description:
CGI is looking for a senior Microsoft Fabric and Power BI specialist to contribute to a major enterprise-scale data and analytics transformation program.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and evolution of complex analytical solutions, Power BI semantic modelling, very large-scale data optimization and the governance of a modern Microsoft Fabric environment.
This opportunity is designed for a highly experienced professional capable of acting as a technical expert, solution architect and trusted advisor to BI and Data teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and optimize complex Power BI semantic models supporting enterprise decision-making.
- Define and evolve the analytics architecture, development standards and BI best practices.
- Design data models involving hundreds of millions to several billion records.
- Optimize the performance of datasets, tabular models and Power BI reports.
- Use XMLA Endpoints for development, deployment and maintenance of production semantic models.
- Use Tabular Editor for management, automation and optimization of Power BI tabular models.
- Contribute to the evolution and migration of analytics platforms toward Microsoft Fabric.
- Design and implement data governance and self-service analytics frameworks.
- Structure and govern Power BI workspaces, access management, certification and governance practices.
- Use Azure DevOps for requirements management, development tracking, documentation and delivery lifecycle activities.
- Assess the impact of technology changes and recommend appropriate architectural directions.
- Act as a technical authority for developers, BI analysts, architects and Data specialists.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and knowledge transfer.
- Work within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Required Profile
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data or Analytics.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior role, such as BI Architect, Analytics Architect, BI Lead or Principal Developer.
- Significant hands-on experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Proven experience delivering Power BI semantic models in production.
- Experience with very large-scale data environments, ideally involving fact tables exceeding one billion records.
- Strong experience with XMLA Endpoints and Tabular Editor.
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Power BI / Microsoft Fabric governance.
- Experience acting as a technical lead or primary technical authority on complex initiatives.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Opportunity Context
This is a strategic, long-term assignment within a complex, high-volume technology environment, offering the opportunity to play a central role in the evolution of a large-scale enterprise Data & Analytics ecosystem.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 70 000$ et 140 000$. This role is an existing vacancy.
