Full Job Description
Senior Mechanical Engineer
What you'll do:
Create novel electro-mechanical mechanisms and systems for a mobile robotics platform and validate them using rapid prototyping fabrication methods
Build, debug and support prototype robots
Develop designs for volume production methods, knowledge of casting, injection molding, stamping, and other volume production processes
Perform failure modes analysis
Create work instructions for fabricating robotic systems
Develop concepts for systems to meet design requirements
Support robot deployments at customer sites as required
Redesign robotic systems for volume manufacturing, focusing on reliability and cost optimization
Ideal Candidates
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics with 3+ years of industry experience
Experience designing and debugging electromechanical systems
Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software (Solidworks and Onshape preferred). FEA experience (ANSYS preferred) an asset.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Hands on experience with 3D printing, sheet metal design, casting, injection molding, prototype manufacturing and assembly
Nice to have:
Experience drafting engineering drawings, conducting tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, etc.
Experience with embedded and edge devices, programming, industrial engineering, electrical system selection and design a plus
