Eaton's Power Systems Division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This role is based out of our Olean, NY location (Relocation is offered)

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.

What you'll do:

Develop, implement and maintain the plant engineering functions, such as Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Processes and Tools, in order to support operations in a manufacturing plant/ceramic finishing process through the achievement of the objectives and goals from the Manufacturing Department. Responsibilities include coordination of equipment installation, technical support, process improvement, preventive maintenance program development, and compliance of environmental and safety requirements.

Job Responsibilities
• Interface directly with all levels of manufacturing and product engineering, and be responsible for process improvements and controls, machine capacity/capability studies, equipment selection and qualification, and adherence to company procedures and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing equipment issues, and write engineering documents to support changes.
• Assist in design, maintenance and interpretation of meaningful and accurate performance measurement systems to increase production efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Design, procure, fabricate, and implement fixture and manufacturing equipment. Direct the procurement of specialized tools, fixtures and gauges by evaluating design concepts, initiating tool orders, and justifying expenditures. Support tooling, setup & related production requirements.
• Plan, organize, control and lead multiple simultaneous projects.
• Conduct process design reviews as well as the Design and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA, PFMEA) sessions to identify project risks and develop response plans
• Participate in concurrent engineering efforts and critical design reviews to minimize product development costs and maximize useful life of products. Apply Design for Manufacturing and Value Engineering practices as applicable.
• Compose Capital Appropriation Requests for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies.
• Identify and meet the need for application of lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methods, including development and execution of productive maintenance and corrective and preventative action plans & systems.
• Enforce and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance issues.
• Give technical direction for initiating and maintaining production capability of assigned components.
• Provide manufacturing support documentation necessary for each operation.
• Understand and drive the implementation of all appropriate elements of the Eaton Business System.
• Maintain a constant search for identifiable and measurable cost reductions through scrap analysis, technology applications, design modifications, and improved labor utilization. Prepare cost estimates and justifications, as necessary.
• Recommend disposition and rework procedures for non-conforming product.
• Provide shop support for tooling, setup, and production requirements.
• Provide necessary interdepartmental communication between Engineering, Production and others to accomplish assigned goals and objectives.
• Provide assistance & support to production supervisors in areas of employee on-the-job training needs & documents.
• Promote a safety culture and actively participate in activities aimed to improve the working conditions of the plant
• Perform other related tasks and assignments, as necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Related Field from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years of Product or Manufacturing experience required
• Minimum 3 years of experience with 2D / 3D CAD, M365
• Relocation benefits are being offered for this position. Candidates that currently reside or are willing to relocate within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Olean, NY will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
• 5 + years of related experience (preferably but not limited to experience in finishing of ceramic materials) including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope and complexity in a manufacturing environment.
• Controls engineering experience (Rockwell), Additive manufacturing experience (3D printing), SAP business system experience
