What you'll be doingU.S. Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Governance plays an important role in strengthening our AML and Sanctions framework and supporting effective second line of defense oversight. As a Senior Manager, US AML Governance, you'll lead key governance programs that help ensure our practices are well designed, consistently executed, and aligned with evolving U.S. regulatory expectations. You'll own governance activities across Regulatory Compliance Management, Known & Emerging Risks, and Records Management, while promoting strong program discipline, clear documentation, and meaningful risk visibility. You'll work closely with Enterprise AML, Compliance, Risk, and business partners to support effective oversight, escalation, and decision-making. Through your leadership, you'll identify opportunities to strengthen governance processes, recordkeeping, and risk monitoring across the U.S. AML and Sanctions framework.

How you'll succeed- Governance leadership - Lead governance programs across the U.S. AML and Sanctions framework, using a risk-based approach to support alignment with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, standards, and second line of defense expectations.
- Regulatory compliance management - Oversee governance activities related to the U.S. AML Regulatory Compliance Management Program, including regulatory change management, consent order tracking, impact assessments, and related oversight activities.
- Risk oversight - Manage Known & Emerging Risks governance by identifying, assessing, monitoring, escalating, and tracking developments, emerging risks, and key events that may affect the AML and Sanctions control environment.
- Records management and documentation - Lead Records Management activities, including records retention practices, documentation standards, program evidence maintenance, and oversight of inventory, preservation, destruction, and periodic review activities.
- Reporting and program discipline - Maintain strong governance routines, documentation, and reporting processes that provide clear, meaningful insights into key risks, issues, and program developments.
- Partnership and continuous improvement - Partner with Enterprise AML, Compliance, Risk, and business teams to support consistent execution, effective escalation, audit and exam readiness, and ongoing improvements to governance processes and controls.
Who you are- You have relevant experience. You bring at least 5 years of experience in AML and Sanctions within a regulated financial services environment. You have a strong understanding of U.S. AML and Sanctions regulatory expectations and governance practices.

- You're digitally savvy. You're comfortable using technology to improve efficiency and execution, including Microsoft Office tools, SharePoint, PowerApps, and AI-enabled tools. Experience with governance reporting and documentation tools is an asset.
- You're a certified professional. You have a bachelor's degree. It's an asset if you hold a professional certification such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or a similar designation.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $ 130,000 USD to $145,000 USD for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
