The opportunity

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be a part of our Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) group. In this role, you will develop the technical proficiency and connectivity to address client issues as well as develop as a well-rounded, quality-focused tax professional. As a member of E&Y's GCR practice, you will develop the combination of deep tax knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of business drivers to serve your clients to the best of your ability.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and provision work for clients. You will lead and team with talented and innovative professionals dedicated to client service.

Skills and attributes for success
  • Provide Canadian corporate tax services including tax accounting, tax accrual reviews and corporate income tax returns.
  • Prepare tax correspondence.
  • Assist our clients with their income tax audits by the various taxation authorities
  • Establish relationships with clients and gain a solid understanding of their business.
  • Develop technical skills by remaining up to date on trends, new developments and tax authority decisions, and apply them to moderately complex situations.
  • Identify opportunities for providing tax planning and other special services.
  • Plan, organize and deliver tax planning engagements for Canadian corporations.
  • Support the development and coaching of tax professionals and other junior tax staff members.
  • Participate in and contribute to the attainment of team objectives.


To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CICA In-depth tax course completed or ongoing, or Master of Tax degree
  • Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in tax
  • Relevant experience as a Senior manager
  • Professional accounting designation
  • Broad exposure to corporate income taxation
  • Solid management, organizational and English/French written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
