Full Job Description
KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.
Responsibilities:
• Work with multi-state companies with state and local income tax compliance
• Act as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide subject matter industry knowledge and experience
• Review information presented on state income and franchise tax estimated payments before, during and after preparation
• Build and manage client relationships, and supervise, mentor, and develop staff
• Monitor risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets
• Collaborate with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice
Qualifications:
• Minimum eight years of recent experience with state income tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, or pass-through entities, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field of study from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
• Experience providing services to public companies and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts
• Ability to foster relationships both internally as well as with clients and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
• Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members
• Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax compliance skills
