Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Solution Architecture is responsible for leading the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise solutions built on the Salesforce ecosystem. This role is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and innovative architectures that leverage Salesforce technologies and integrate with enterprise platforms, cloud services, and data ecosystems.
The ideal candidate combines deep Salesforce expertise, modern cloud architecture knowledge, and strong leadership capabilities to drive digital transformation initiatives across the organization.

This role will play a critical leadership position in shaping the organization's membership platform strategy, digital engagement capabilities, and AI-enabled business processes through the Salesforce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Platform Architecture
  • Lead the architectural strategy and solution design for enterprise initiatives leveraging the Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and Salesforce AI capabilities).
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, scalability standards, and security frameworks.
  • Guide architecture decisions across Salesforce integrations, custom development, and platform extensions.
  • Establish reusable Salesforce architecture patterns and best practices.

Technology Strategy & Innovation
  • Drive adoption of modern technologies including AI/ML, Salesforce Einstein, generative AI capabilities, and automation frameworks.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies within the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Align Salesforce capabilities with enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
  • Lead architecture strategy for low-code/no-code solutions, platform automation, and AI-powered workflows.

Integration & Data Architecture
  • Architect solutions that integrate Salesforce with enterprise systems, APIs, and cloud platforms.
  • Design scalable integration patterns using technologies such as: MuleSoft, API-led architecture, Event-driven architectures, and Microservices
  • Collaborate with data teams to ensure Salesforce solutions integrate effectively with enterprise data platforms and analytics ecosystems.

Architecture Governance
  • Establish and enforce architecture standards, design reviews, and solution governance.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead architecture reviews for major Salesforce initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and mentor a team of Solution Architects and Technical Architects.
  • Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams including engineering, product, data, and infrastructure teams.

Business Collaboration
  • Partner with business leaders across membership, marketing, customer support and operations to design solutions that drive measurable business value.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures.
  • Support strategic planning and roadmap development for Salesforce capabilities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or solution architecture
  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform experience
  • 3+ years of leadership or architecture management experience
  • Proven experience designing large-scale Salesforce implementations
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise systems and cloud platforms


Technical Expertise
Strong experience with Salesforce Ecosystem: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Data Cloud, Salesforce Einstein / AI capabilities, Lightning Platform, Salesforce AppExchange ecosystem

Architecture & Integration: API-led architecture, MuleSoft, REST / GraphQL APIs, Event driven architecture, Microservices architecture, Cloud-native design patterns

Cloud & Modern Platforms: AWS, DevOps / CI/CD, Containerization (Docker / Kubernetes), CIAM (SSO, OAuth, SAML)

Data & Analytics: Enterprise data architecture, data integration and pipelines, Customer data platforms (CDP), Data governance frameworks

This role is based in our Washington, DC office. A reasonable rate of base compensation for this position is $150,000-170,000 per year. ACS employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose.
